All spaces have been filled for this event, but if you'd like your name to be put on a waiting list, please email me by Wednesday, July 31: Sue at firstname.lastname@example.org
That's right! The Bytown Ukulele Group and the Vernon Ukulele Players have once again been invited to play out in front of the RCGT Stadium to entertain people as they line up to purchase tickets and enter the stadium, as part of Osgoode Ward Day @ the Ottawa Champions game on Saturday, August 10 - 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Then we get free tickets for ourselves and our family and friends to enjoy the game! The game starts at 7:05. We've had so much fun the last few years! According to the email I received "the Bytown Ukulele Group is one of the absolute favourite groups that not only the public enjoy, but the owner of the Ottawa Champions looks forward to!" Pretty impressive!
There will be FREE parking for ukulele players who have signed up, and FREE game tickets available to the ukers for themselves and their family and guests!
All the free tickets will be handed out to ukers when they arrive.
I will send you a password to get free parking for one car at the stadium about 1 week before the event. If you find that you are unable to attend, PLEASE let me know so that I can give your spot to someone on the waiting list.
WHERE: We'll be playing at the entrance to the Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton Park Stadium, 300 Coventry Road. Directions
WHEN: Saturday, August 10, 2019
TIME: 6:00 to 7 P.M. (please arrive at the entrance around 5:30 to get settled, set up your music stand, and get your tickets to give your family/friends when they arrive). If'd prefer to stand up and dance while we play, by all means! Just be sure to position yourself at the back of the group - sitters at the front, dancers at the back.
MUSIC: Mark and I will bring all the music, i.e., the BUG Event binders. Or if you'd like to use your tablet or iPad, download the most recent version of the BUG Event Songbook PDF. Up above, I've posted a list of the songs I'm most likely to choose from this time around - in an hour, we'll likely only have time for 12 or so. Absolutely try to learn "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" and "Centrefield" as they'll be our two final songs no matter what!
It's a rain or shine event - if it rains we will move into the concourse.
WHAT TO BRING:
- uke and tuner
- music stand
- clothes peg or something similar to keep the song sheets from blowing
- sun hat and sun glasses, if needed
- water bottle
- BIG smiles!
