COME JOIN US FOR A CAMPING WEEKEND OF UKULELE FUN! If you can't come for the weekend, why not come for the day on Saturday! Only an hour from Ottawa!

WHEN:  Friday, August 18 to Sunday, August 20, 2017. Saturday is the Main Event day for the Workshop Gatherings starting at 1pm, Community Uke Potluck starting at 5pm, and Campfire Jam starting after 7pm.

WHERE:  Riverside Cedar Campground, 13180 County Road 2, Morrisburg, Ontario

LINK TO RESERVATIONS INFORMATION BY PHONE OR ONLINE (2 night minimum to reserve on weekends): http://www.stlawrenceparks.com/reservations/  We're hoping that ukers will book their sites in the Riverside East section of the campground. There are also chalets to rent in that area as well! Most will be in sites 177 through 190. There have been a couple cancellations, email Sharon if you aren't able to reserve a spot online and we'll see what can be done.

    DETAILS

There's lots of activities in the area like paddling, biking, swimming, watching the big ocean freighters chug by, etc. Plus, if you're camping, be sure to ask at check-in for your 2 FREE passes for Upper Canada Village or Fort Henry (offer valid May 12 - Sept 14, 2017). And music?! Oh my goodness, do we have plans for you!

    FRIDAY

7:30 - 9:30 p.m. CAMPFIRE JAM at campsite #184: Please bring a chair and a log for the fire! Song circle/open mic style – sing a song yourself, or invite others to sing with you (bring ~30 song sheets for others if you have a new song to share)

    SATURDAY

1:00 p.m. WORKSHOPS: laidback workshop gatherings facilitated by wonderful volunteers at various campsites (see chart below). Stroll around and join in any that interest you.

2:00 - 4:00 p.m. JAM at site #184: BUG Event binders, Beatles binders, Additional Riverside-Cedar songs, and any group songs folks would like to share (bring 30 copies please)

MUSIC: If you have a favourite song that you'd like to share with the group, please bring along songsheets to hand out (probably 30 or so would do - we can share). Mark & Sue will bring 29 BUG Event binders and 18 Beatles'/Additional Riverside-Cedar binders for people to share. BUT we strongly encourage you to print out your very own songbooks provided above, or download them onto your iPad or Android. It will make it easier for everyone to see the songsheets around the campfire, plus you'll be able to use the songbooks throughout the weekend for impromptu jams with others on your own campsites. If you'd like to try out "The Bucket" with other ukers, print out or download a copy of the songsheet posted above.

CAMPING TIP:   iPads and other computer devices can work well around a campfire because your songsheets are backlit and you don't have to rely on paper and a flashlight. If you don't have an iPad/notebook and need a light for sheet music, we'd suggest a booklight attached to the stand. If you use a headlight, it shines into other people's eyes PLUS you'll be sucking in bugs as you sing!
