BUG has been asked if we would do 2 sessions at the Ottawa Folk Festival on:
Saturday, August 27 from 5 to 6:30 in the Jam Session tent; and
Sunday, August 28 from 6:30 to 7:30 in the Volunteer area behind the CUPE main stage
The jam session on Saturday would be geared to beginners - those people who may have taken the beginning ukulele workshop earlier in the day at the festival and want to try out a few tunes with us. You would be interacting with the public.
We were originally scheduled earlier, but I asked if we could be rescheduled so that we could all see the band "The Little Stevies" - from 3 - 4:15 Saturday on the Ravenlaw stage. Check out their video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxnZt8mpwy4&feature=related
This band will also be leading the beginner ukulele worshops on the Saturday at the Festival! So come on out folks - it's going to be great!
The Sunday session is in the Volunteer area and therefore we'll be interacting with the volunteers working backstage - not so much a jam session but more entertainment I think. Come on out if you're at the Folk Festival and let's spread the ukulele joy! Let us know what songs from our repertoire you think would be great to play!
Since these sessions are inside the gates, you would be required to pay for a day pass (or you could buy a full festival pass. Here's the link to tickets: http://ottawafolk.com/?page_id=32
Adult day pass: $39.50
Adult 4 day pass: $125
I'll let you know know any more breaking news as I get it from the OFF coordinator!
