For BUG we'll do this version similar to Johnny Cash's version, which is the one many are familiar with. The strum for the song is a fast one and varies.

"Ring of Fire", or "The Ring of Fire", is a song written by June Carter Cash and Merle Kilgore and recorded by Johnny Cash. The single appears on Cash's 1963 album, Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash. The song was originally recorded by June's sister, Anita Carter, on her Mercury Records album Folk Songs Old and New (1963) as "(Love's) Ring of Fire". When the song failed to become a major hit for Anita, Cash recorded it his own way, adding the mariachi-style horns from his dream. "Ring of Fire" was ranked No. 4 on CMT's 100 Greatest Songs of Country Music in 2003 and #87 on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In June 2014, Rolling Stone ranked the song #27 on its list of the 100 greatest country songs of all time.

This is waaaay better than the one that embarrassed me a couple months ago! I added a third video by another fabulous ukulele girl. As far as I can tell, Johnny is playing this in the Key of A, The girl in the middle is playing in the key of G (upside-down and backward lefty), and the the girl in the third video is playing in the Key of F. I like the F for the Uke but always played it in A on the Guitar. G would be best for the group and I hope we can get back to this one soon and make it one of our BUG standards.
