For the fourth year in a row, ukers will once again be entertaining southern Ottawa residents and visitors on Canada Day in Vernon this July 1st from 2:00-4:00pm! Unfortunately, Mark and Sue are unable to participate this year, so the hosting Vernon Ukulele Players (VUP) group will do their best to fill their big shoes. BUGs, VUPs, and UKES (Ukulele Kemptville Enthusiasts) - 3 groups playing together under the big tent!
After playing, we can support the Vernon Community Association's BBQ by purchasing a hamburger or hot dog and having dinner together.
After dinner, the ukulele players are invited to stroll up the road to Sharon's place for a cool brew and junk food/munchies (I'll put a box of beer on ice, but please BYOB). Bring your bathing suit for a cool swim and/or hot tub at Brian's if you like. At dusk, we'll head back down to the community centre to watch the impressive fireworks display. We had a great time these past three years, and the audience loved us!
RAIN OR SHINE! If it's raining, we'll be inside the community centre!
WHERE: Vernon Community Centre, 7950 Lawrence Street. Just a 20 minute drive south of Hunt Club via Bank Street. Once you enter Vernon, turn left at the flashing yellow light. The community centre is just down the road on the right-hand side.
JAM TIME: 2 - 4 (please try to arrive by 1:30 for set-up)
PLAYLIST: Posted above - we'll be handing this out to audience members and letting them request songs!
