  • BUG Jam hosted by Mike Cox and his band of miscreants - September 19

Mark and Sue are away for September leaving the keys to the kingdom in the sketchy hands of me, Mike Cox, and my band of miscreants. For September 2018 we are having a theme night.  In October, our federal government will be legalizing Canabis right across this great nation so to honor or dishonor this momentous event, we are going to sing about it as only BUG can.

    When:    Wednesday, September 19, 2018

Where:   Clocktower Brew Pub, 575 Bank St, lower level

Time:     7 - 10 p.m. But come downstairs early to enjoy dinner, drinks, noodling, and camaraderie with all your uke friends! Doors open at 5:30.

So here is the theme:  Songs about drugs or other human vices, songs about social change or just change in general, human vices include drinking and gambling so there is a lot to choose from.  We currently have over 1200 songs in the BUG library on the Songs Page and believe it or not, I easily found 30 songs that fit the theme so be sure to check it out.

These orphan jams have really taken on a vibe of their own.  It is a very collaborative affair.  Last year we had twenty five different voices behind the microphones.  I'll be emceeing the jam, and my helpers behind the scenes are Sharon, Chris, Richard, Charles, Heather and more.  On Bass we will have Gavin once again, he always does a fantastic job and if anybody would like to take a turn at the bass, just ask and we will make it happen.

So please come join us.  Pick a song, email your suggestions to Mike at letsjam@bytownukulele.ca.  More details to follow.
