Hi everyone!
Here's an opportunity to share our ukulele excitement! You may not be aware that BUG has participated at the Ottawa Folk Festival, Music and Beyond Festival, In from the Cold program, and some other events. It's a lot of fun for BUGs and our enthusiasm is always contagious!
What: 1st annual Ottawa Grassroots Festival, a community-oriented celebration of music and dance
When: Saturday, April 28, 2012
Where: Montgomery Legion, 330 Kent at MacLaren, Ottawa - BUG will play downstairs
BUG jam time: 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
THE SONG LIST IS ATTACHED AS A FILE BELOW - you can find all the songs on the SONGS page and we'll bring binders. Note: the interactive songs we'll be teaching are in the Pre School Uke Songbook found on the SONG BOOKS page.
Check out the festival website for all the details:

Please email us at mrogers@distributel.net by Thursday, April 26 and let us know if you plan to come and play with us and whether or not you can bring a music stand (no worries if you can't). That way we'll know how many binders to bring and how many chairs and music stands we need to set up.
Don't worry if you've never done this before, or you're a beginner - it's NOT a performance, it's a sing-a-long jam! Wrong notes and off- key voices welcome - all you need are your big smiles and your little ukes! We'll play about a half hour of songs and then we'll hand out ukuleles to people, hopefully many children, teach them the C chord and the F chord and play some simple children songs like Frere Jacques, Itsy Bitsy Spider and This Old Man for the last half hour.
You're welcome to bring your children and grandchildren - it's all free. There's lots of kid-friendly activities planned - like the contradance right after us! Mark and I will be helping families try that out as well! It's fun and easy!
Hope you'll join us! If you have any questions, give us a call at 613-526-4313
