Howdy folks!

Our next BUG jam will be on Wednesday, April 18, 2012! It’s been suggested that we do a country/bluegrass/oldtimey night. So little doggies – put on your thinking caps and rustle up some songs! We'll also be running through some of the songs BUG will be playing at the Ottawa Grassroots Festival on April 28th.

You can upload song sheets and videos yourself – all you have to do is register as a user (link is above) then follow the instructions you find on the HELP page – HOW TO ADD A SONG. The song will then appear on the list below.

Keep in mind that the songs are going to be printed out first and then prepared for screen presentation. The best format for submitting songs is in a document such as Word. Put the chord boxes, for example [Am7], in bold black within the text of the song. The text should be a simple font like Verdana and large enough to read easily in dim lighting and shared binders - no smaller than 14 point for most fonts.

Play it through a couple of times before you post it to make sure the chords are in the right spots and the words are the way you want them. Remember – a whole lot of people who may be unfamiliar with the song you post will be giving it their best shot - so try to think about how you can format the song to make it really easy for a large group, including many beginners, to read and play on pub night. You may want to add an intro of a couple chords to ease people into the song.

Have fun! You’ll find that searching out a song you’ve always wanted to play and prettying it up into a nice piece of sheet music for your collection (and BUG's library) will give you great satisfaction and proves to be addictive! If 25 BUGs submit one song each -  it would be awesome – enough for a whole evening! They can be new songs or if you choose one we’ve already done from our Songs page on the website, just email the title to me at mrogers@distributel.net and I’ll put it on the list.
