WE'VE GOT 32 GREAT SONGS LINED UP BELOW - so we're good to go and don't need anymore for this month! But be sure to save them for another session! Thanks to all who contributed this month!
For June, a couple of members suggested the theme - FLOWER POWER - music of the late 60's and early 70's.
Break out your old bellbottoms, tie-dyed shirts, beads and peacesigns. Wow man, Jimi Hendrix has just finished singing "The Wind Cries Mary" and Jefferson Airplane's Grace Slick is going down a dark hole singing "White Rabbit" and the White Knight was talking backwards ..."Don't looseyour head" ...(a quote from Claude!)
First of all, check out all the songs that are already posted under the Songs tab and the Songbooks tab - there's lots of great songs from that era already on the site. If it's posted in the Songs category, you can just edit it to add it to the June 2012 category. If the song is in one of the songbooks on the Songbook page, you can still post the song - just write in the title and then in the text box tell us what songbook we'll find it in.
Or post your own favourite versions of 60's and 70's songs! Please post them with chord references within the text of the song...that way they can be formatted properly for printing, as well as for big screen presentations. If you need to transpose the song into a different key to suit your voice, you can try some transposing sites like http://linkesoft.com/songbook/windows.html or use the Logue transposer on Richard G's site at : http://www.scorpexuke.com/change-key.html He also has a good selection of songs on his site.
