What a treat - you won't want to miss this event!

Can't make the February Caribbean Cruise with Manitoba Hal? Come and see him right here in Ottawa - one night only!

Some of you have also heard us talk about the very talented John Dillabough, but we know few of you have had the opportunity to hear him play.

October 19th you will have the chance to come and hear them both, up close and personal, right here, in our living room!  Space is limited so reserve your spot early!

For any of you who may be unfamiliar with House Concerts and how they work, there is only one way to reserve your spot at the concert, email us at riversidesouthconcerts@gmail.com or call 613 831 1876!

Your concert fee is payable at the door and it will be handed directly to the artist at the end of the evening. There will be a break when we'll share some treats and chat -- and you'll get the chance to talk one on one with the artists as well. There will be snacks (if you wish to bring something to share on the snack table, that'd be great - just please let us know!) and there will be CDs available to purchase. This is a great way to support the artists you are coming to hear, and to bring a little piece of the evening home with you.

BYOB ~ We will have coolers with ice for you to drop your cold drinks in, if you wish, and a limited number of beverages (non-Alcohol) will be available at a cost of $2.00 ea.

Reserved guests will receive an email two or three days before the event with the host address for the concert.

But first, listen (and watch) ... here and here.

    Manitoba Hal www.manitobahal.com

Manitoba Hal is an accomplished guitarist and songwriter, but he is best known for his ukulele chops. He proves that the uke can be small but mighty as he pulls out powerful blues riffs and melodies. Hal uses a looping technology to produce a one-man-band experience, adding subtle but important background beats to his extraordinary ukulele strumming and riffing. Many wouldn’t associate the ukulele as a blues instrument, but Hal takes out all the hula, leaving only room for deep blues to prevail. After his grandfather gave him a uke in ’95, Hal found that it transferred easily from his blues guitar style, complimenting his combination of finger picking and strumming, and gospel vocal style.
Hal writes his own blues tunes, and also covers traditional songs after giving them his own flavor. His songs also breathe with hints of Tin Pan Alley, hit parade, rock, gospel, and folk. Hal is influenced by artists like Robert Johnson and Taj Mahal, Colin Linden, and Big Dave Mclean. As a big blues man with a tiny ukulele, Manitoba Hal makes music with this instrument like no other.

    John Dillabough Listen

John is an Ottawa raised musician who started playing music almost 30 years ago, playing in his high school orchestra to club bands, original acts and wedding bands as well. He has also recorded in many styles of music including country, pop, rock and instrumental as a hired studio musician. John writes music on many different instruments, including guitar, mandolin, piano and banjo. He doesn’t have one favorite genre of music; instead, he enjoys all styles, when played with conviction and from the heart. Currently John is teaching many different instruments at Class Axe music store in Kemptville, Ontario and continuing to write and sing music of all genres, focusing mostly on acoustic instruments.

Come... Bring a friend and enjoy the house concert experience, we are looking forward to seeing you!
