    My Back Pages (Byrds version)

    Bob Dylan (1964)

    {c: intro riff x2:}
    [C]  [Csus4]
    {c: repeat intro}

    [C]Crimson [Am]flames tied [Em]through my ears
    Rollin' [F]high and [G]mighty [C]traps
    [C]Pounced with [Am]fire on [Em]flaming roads
    Using [F]ideas as my [G]maps
    "We'll [Am]meet on edges, [Em]soon," said I
    [F]Proud 'neath heated [G]brow.
    Ah, but [C]I was so much [F]older [C]then,
    I'm [F]younger [G]than that [C]now

    {c: intro riff}

    Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
    "Rip down all hate," I screamed
    Lies that life is black and white
    Spoke from my skull, I dreamed
    Romantic flanks of musketeers
    Foundationed deep, somehow.
    Ah, but I was so much older then,
    I'm younger than that now.

    In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand
    At the mongrel dogs who teach
    Fearing not that I'd become my enemy
    In the instant that I preach
    My pathway led by confusion boats
    Mutiny from stern to bow.
    Ah, but I was so much older then,
    I'm younger than that now.

    {c: verse break: first six lines}

    Ah, but [C]I was so much [F]older [C]then,
    I'm [F]younger [G]than that [C]now

    {c: intro riff}

    Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
    Too noble to neglect
    Deceived me into thinking
    I had something to protect
    Good and bad, I define these terms
    Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
    Ah, but I was so much older then,
    I'm younger than that now.

    A video for this song:

    Looks like Key of F here.

Whoops I made a mistake. The chorus after the break should be:

Ah, but [C]I was so much [F]older [C]then,
I'm [F]younger [G]than that [C]now

Hey Charles - great song...I'd forgotten this one!

I fixed the chorus in the text above. I'm just preparing a printed version, and I'm not sure about the riffs:

{c: intro riff x2:} [C] [Csus4]

{c: repeat intro}

Do you end up playing [C] [Csus4] a total of 4 times before starting the verse?

And then does {c: intro riff} mean to play [C] [Csus4] just 2 times?

Sorry, Sue, I've been away.

The first time you play the two chords twice, after that it's just once.
