Come out for a fun-filled afternoon of ukulele at the Clocktower Brew Pub with Jim D'Ville! Two 1 hour workshops and a 30 minute mini-concert!
When: Sunday, June 22, 2014
Where: Clocktower Brew Pub, 575 Bank St, lower level
Time: We've booked the downstairs room from 11:30 until 5. We're hoping you'll join us between 11:30 and 1:00 for brunch or snacks with your fellow ukers! We'll eat, drink, visit, and play! The workshops will run from 1 to 2 p.m. and 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. with a free mini-concert from 3:45 to 4:15.
Cost of Workshops: (mini-concert is free)
Advance tickets: $20 for one workshop, or $35 for both workshops (you're gonna want to take both!) You can buy these in person from Mark or Sue at the BUG jams or at the Ottawa Folklore Centre.

Play Ukulele By Ear Workshop (All Levels) 60min: (1:00 - 2:00 p.m.)
Get the most out of your ukulele experience by learning to Play Ukulele By Ear. This entertaining and informative workshop will give you the tools you need to tap into your innate musical abilities. Playing by ear is easy, fun, and it will propel your understanding of how music works to a new level. This workshop will make you a better listener and student! All skill levels welcome, however, knowledge of basic chord shapes (C F G7) is helpful.
Uke By Ear Jam Workshop (All Levels): 60min (2:30 - 3:30 p.m.)
Take what you learned in the first hour and put it into practice! In this fun and interactive workshop you'll learn to do just that. Jim will lead the group through popular songs from one to four chords in structure, in the genres of rock, pop, folk and blues. This is the fast track to also learning how to play together with others in a group by ear.
